Counsel built on fiduciary
discipline, not sales quotas.
JTM Carey Capital manages portfolios and retirement plans under a single standard: the client's interest comes first, in writing, every time.
An advisory built the old way: slowly, and on paper.
Every engagement begins with a documented profile of a client's goals, time horizon, and tolerance for risk — not a model portfolio pulled off a shelf. Strategy follows from that record, and it is revisited, in writing, as circumstances change.
We hold discretionary authority only where clients grant it, and only within the restrictions they set. Fees are disclosed before they are charged, negotiated where appropriate, and never tied to the performance of the account — a structure we avoid deliberately, because it rewards the wrong kind of risk.
Two disciplines, one duty of loyalty.

Brendan Carey
Brendan Carey founded JTM Carey Capital to bring a fiduciary standard to clients he had already spent years advising on the insurance side of their financial lives, as Managing Director of JTM Insurance & Financial Group. Before that, he worked as a registered representative and in sales, and before that, he set marble and tile as a union tradesman — work that instilled the same rule he applies to a portfolio: measure twice, and stand behind what you build.
As the firm's Chief Compliance Officer, he personally reviews every account each quarter and every piece of personal trading by the firm's own people, so that no client ever competes with the house for a fair price.

Justin Matt
Justin Matt is a co-owner of JTM Carey Capital and Managing Director of JTM Insurance & Financial Group. Within JTM Carey Capital, he focuses on client relationships — welcoming new families to the firm, keeping communication clear and timely, and making sure the day-to-day experience of working with JTM feels personal rather than transactional.
He also helps shape the firm's overall vision, culture, and standards of service, working alongside Brendan Carey, who oversees investment advisory services and compliance. Their complementary roles let each partner lead where he is strongest, so clients get both a steady point of contact and disciplined stewardship of their portfolios.
Start with a conversation, not a pitch.
Every prospective client begins with a no-obligation review of goals and current holdings. There is no cost, and no requirement to move forward.
